Waking Jean Baptiste

Waking Jean Baptiste is a young artist (born 1971) in an artistic family. As with so many families, his was cast apart during the early '90s and he went back to Port-au-Prince, the capital, in 1992 to continue his studies

Waking uses the knife as his brush and enjoys listening to Mozart when he paints

"I enjoy painting scenes about life in my country, both the good and the unpleasant. Using my knife as brush, I can create different textures to express various moods and atmospheres.

"I am always in search of something on my canvas that is completely unique. That is my goal"
